Victory Day
May
9 is Victory Day. Every year on that day our people celebrate this holiday.
They honor the veterans of the Great Patriotic War. As a tradition the
people together with the veterans go to the monuments and memorials to
honor the memory of the war heroes on Victory Day. They put flowers and
stand still in silence there. Then they go to Independence Square to watch
the Military Parade.
In
the evening there is a big concert at Ruhiyet Palace devoted to this glorious
holiday. 
Our President Saparmyrat Turkmenbashy the Great takes part in this celebration on the occasion of Victory Day. He congratulates our people on Victory Day, welcomes the veterans and wishes them health, success and happiness.
At 9 PM there are fireworks in our capital and in many cities of our state. The people sing, dance and enjoy the holiday.
We shall always remember our war heroes and do our best to live in peace and friendship with all people.
